The aim of the EduCycle Exchange program was to support the global climate education in the Gamified way of teaching.
The lead organization “Neste Corporation” sent the first-ever climate education game “EduCycle game” to 10 schools in Finland and 10 schools around the world. Each school partnered with a global collaborator so that the children could teach and learn from each other about climate change. To support collaboration and dissemination between the schools, Neste created and administrated a website and social media channels for the program.
Today, the EduCycle Game is known as “Rescuebusters EduCycle” and used in all primary schools in the cities of Tampere and Lahti sold by Syrawise Ltd.

Children learned how the climate change is affecting other parts of the world, and together found solutions for tackling the global issue.
Educycle Exchange is an exciting example of integrating the latest EDTECH approaches with a Gamified education in front of global climate change.
The most innovative aspect is the end product, The EduCycle game, which is the first augmented reality game for schools and children in the world.
Teachers learned new methods to use EDTECH in education. Neste Oyj received feedback from teachers and learned how to develop the game technology from the pedagogical point of view.
The program encouraged students and teachers to discuss and learn about the effects, causes and decisions related to climate changes.
The goal of the game is to make choices that meet the best with the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement, which is based on the data collected from the critical studies of different disciplines.
Neste offered EduCycle game for schools. SyraWise provided training for teachers and students how to play the game. Teachers provided to SyraWise the pedagogical aspects on how to develop the game.
Student and teachers discussed the effects of climate change at the global and local level.
According to the final report (/https://foryoureyeson.ly/2018/grandone/neste/educycle/), the quality of the cooperation seems successful. Over 700 schools visited the EduCycle website. In social media, the program reached over 220 million people.
SyraWise is an educational game company which developed the technology, visual concept and general outlook of the EduCycle game.
