Short Description

KlimaZirkus promotes sustainability and innovation to students by engaging in co-creation between schools and businesses. Society faces a future with technology, climate challenges and the complexity of issues increases significantly. We address this challenge through education offers the next generation the skills, competencies, personal character, and knowledge that is needed to address complex problems like climate changes. Our didactic helps schools, teachers and companies to co-create.

Objectives

We seek to understand how iterative processes affect creativity, learning, school systems and design learning space where everyone can learn, innovate, create, and have fun while sharing ideas and working together. The narrative for the us is to enable students to act as change makers who find solutions to the challenges outlined in the SGD’s. The purpose of KlimaZirkus is to become the unified meeting point for the local and global community to discuss and design solutions to the global challenges outlined in the SDGs. Justification

KlimaZirkus is a meeting place for young people where they can discuss and work on innovative and operational ideas. Their learning concept called Studie 17 is nothing less than a studium for change makers. KlimaZirkus helps students to co-create with mentors from local businesses. This equip a student with skills to deal with complex problems and address SDG's through creativity.

Innovation

What is learned in a school ought to be useful to people well after they finish school. Approaching any new situation that requires using one’s knowledge, whether it is a real-world application or learning a more advanced topic in a given discipline, involves leveraging what one has already learned. In either case, existing knowledge must be effectively used in a new context. The more robust a mastery one has developed of the fundamentals of a topic, the easier it is to leverage it to learn even more.
KlimaZirkus-Building Workshop helps students to co-create with mentors
from local businesses and use the concept from four-dimensional-education as a framework to internalizing the most important concepts of
each discipline and across disciplines. They combine this with innovation processes which equips the students to deal with multifaceted problems and have a more diverse set of tools with which to interpret the world.
KlimaZirkus-Building Workshop introduces students to real-world challenges and the 17 SDG’s trough a learning environment with:
1. Caring relationships.
2. Communication of high expectations.
3. Opportunities for meaningful involvement and participation.
These are all factors that have been identified in schools, communities, and social support systems as positively influencing resilience and grit in the students. Grit is the tendency to sustain interest in and effort toward very long-term goals (Duckworth et al., 2007).

Practice Orientation

They combine theory with hands-on through the student-driven projects.

Intergenerationality

People from 7 to 60 are involved.

Interdisciplinarity

They are a STEAM project

Transdisciplinarity

They use four-dimensional learning. Four-dimensional education describes a comprehensive framework for what personalized education for the 21st century must be about: comprehensive and adaptive while allowing for choice and local needs, along all dimensions of an education not merely traditional knowledge.

Cooperation

Every partner is valued; working on eye-level with every partner and all people have a view and knowledge that is valued.

Cooperation Quality

They have a good communication and I will recommend the project as an inspiration to all. Also read: https://hundred.org/en/innovations/studie-17

Role of External Partners

The external partners function as role modes and the companies, museums co-creates with the students. The students work on a project over an extended period of time – from a week up to a semester – that engages them in solving a real-world problem or answering a complex question given to them from the external partner. The students demonstrate their knowledge and skills by creating a public product or presentation for a real audience.

As a result, students develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. "KlimaZirkus Learning" unleashes a contagious, creative energy among students and teachers.

Institutional Learning

We have workshops for teachers and the teachers can implement the learnings into their classes after the projects and workshops.
